Methodology

HydraResolve uses transparent screening logic: symptoms and operating observations adjust the relative likelihood of plausible causes or material families. It does not claim certainty from limited inputs.

Troubleshooting logic

Diagnostic results are ranked hypotheses, not a remote diagnosis. The tool deliberately keeps cylinder-internal causes separate from valve, pressure, flow and mechanical causes where those can produce similar symptoms.

Seal identification logic

Dimensions alone rarely identify a unique seal. The identifier combines location, visible profile, ID/OD/height and optional gland or machine dimensions, then tells the user what still needs verification.

Material-screening logic

PU, NBR, FKM and PTFE are compared using broad engineering characteristics such as fluid compatibility, temperature, pressure, speed, friction and abrasion. Exact compound formulations differ substantially, so manufacturer data always takes priority.

Corrections

As the knowledge base grows, rules and wording may be updated when better technical references or field evidence justify a change.
